What is the PennyTalk Corporate calling service?

The PennyTalk Corporate calling service enables companies of all sizes to lower their domestic and international calling costs and manage expenses. International rates are as low as 1¢ a minute to over 200 locations. PennyTalk Corporate can be used from any landline or mobile phone in the United States, and the same low calling rates apply, no matter which kind of phone your employees use.

Setup is easy and can be completed in just a few minutes. After establishing a PennyTalk Corporate Account, the Account Administrator can create User Accounts for the company's employees and allocate funds for international calling – all through the online Account Management Center.

Employees receive email notification from PennyTalk Corporate when their User Accounts have been set up. The email contains instructions for using PennyTalk Corporate as well as download links for PennyTalk Corporate Mobile, our easy-to-use smartphone app for Android, iPhone, or BlackBerry.

What are the PennyTalk Corporate calling rates?

With PennyTalk Corporate, you can call anyone, anywhere within the U.S. and Canada for just 1¢ a minute. International rates start as low as 1¢ a minute. And, you can use PennyTalk Corporate from your work phone or mobile phone. Call times for each call are rounded up to the next whole minute and billed in full minute increments.

How do I create a PennyTalk Corporate Account?

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3...

  1. Sign up online or contact one of our sales representatives at 1-888-726-5855.
  2. Set up individual User Accounts for as many employees as you wish.
  3. Fund the User Accounts by moving funds from your Corporate Account balance.

PennyTalk Corporate is a prepaid service so you can use a Visa, American Express, or MasterCard credit or debit card to create your account. Credit cards must be drawn on a U.S. bank and you must have a U.S. billing address. Sign up today!

What is an Account Administrator?

The Account Administrator manages the Corporate Account and employee accounts (referred to as User Accounts) in the online Account Management Center. He or she sets up individual User Accounts and funds them from the Corporate Account balance. The Account Administrator may designate Secondary Administrators who are able to perform most of the tasks of the main Administrator.

When can I start creating User Accounts?

You can start creating User Accounts as soon as your initial credit or debit card payment is verified. The verification process is usually completed within one business day, and you will receive an email notification when your Corporate Account funds are available. You can view your available balance anytime in the online Account Management Center.

How do we make calls with PennyTalk Corporate?

For calls from landlines or regular mobile phones, you simply dial the PennyTalk Corporate access number (1-877-736-6925). When prompted, enter the Account Number and PIN of the employee User Account and then the domestic or international number you would like to call.

For calls from smartphones, it's even easier. Each employee can download and install the PennyTalk Corporate Mobile app for iPhone, BlackBerry or Android. Once logged in with their Account Number and PIN, employees simply use the app's contact list to make international calls. A Wi-Fi connection is NOT required.

Detailed calling instructions are provided in the confirmation email that is sent to each employee who is assigned a User Account.

Can we use PennyTalk Corporate from outside the U.S.?

Yes. PennyTalk Corporate offers international calling from more than 30 countries around the world to call back to the U.S. or call country-to-country. View our International Access Numbers page for availability, access numbers and rate information.

Please note that rates from outside the U.S. are higher and mobile roaming fees from mobile carriers may apply. Your company is responsible for any non-PennyTalk Corporate charges assessed by your mobile provider. At this time, PennyTalk Corporate Mobile apps do not work from outside the U.S.

Are there any contracts?

No. There are no contracts or required commitments with PennyTalk Corporate.

Are there any fees?

There is a $9.95 monthly maintenance fee for your PennyTalk Corporate Account. A 90¢ payphone operator recovery fee applies to each call made from a payphone.

Are there any volume discounts?

Yes. At the end of each monthly cycle, your PennyTalk Corporate Account will be credited with 5% of your previous month's spending on calls. For example, if your company spends $1000 on PennyTalk Corporate calls in October, in November your Corporate Account will be credited with $50 of bonus calling funds, which your Administrator can transfer into User Accounts. The more you spend with PennyTalk Corporate, the more you save.

Can we get a refund if we’re not satisfied?

PennyTalk Corporate comes with a satisfaction guarantee. If at any time you are dissatisfied with the service, contact our Customer Service department for a refund of your unused paid balance.

Will we get a bill in the mail?

PennyTalk Corporate is a prepaid service; you will not receive a monthly bill. The charges for your calls are automatically deducted from your prepaid account balance.

You can review your call history, billing history and other account activity in the online Account Management Center. Login to your account with your Administrator Username and Password or your Account Number and PIN, then select Call History or Billing History from the navigation on the left side of the page.

Are rates higher if I call a mobile phone?

A call to a mobile phone outside of the U.S. or Canada may carry a higher rate per minute. This is due to the higher costs we must pay the international mobile carrier to connect the call. Please consult the Rates page for the country you are calling.

If there is no mobile rate listed, the applicable country or city rate is the rate you will pay. For example, all calls to China are just 2¢ a minute, no matter where in China you call and no matter whether you call a landline or mobile phone.

I do not see the city I am calling listed on the Rates page. What rate will I be charged?

If the city or location you are calling within a country is not listed separately on the Rates page, you will be charged the country rate for your call. For example, all calls to China are just 2¢ a minute, no matter which city in China you call and no matter whether you call a landline or mobile phone.

Note that rates may be lower to certain cities within a country and that rates to mobile phones may be higher than the country rate.

The country I am calling has a "Mobile" rate listed on the Rates page. What does that mean?

If a Mobile (or Cellular) rate is listed, it represents the rate you will be charged to call a mobile phone in that country or city. For example, the rate to call a landline in Mexico is 2¢ a minute; the rate to call a mobile phone in Mexico is 9.9¢ a minute. So you would be charged 9.9¢ a minute to call a mobile phone in Mexico, regardless of whether you make the call from your landline or mobile phone.

The country I am calling has more than one rate listed on the Rates page. What does that mean?

In some cases, rates differ for calls to cities or mobile phones within a country. For example, there are four rates listed for Brazil:

Brazil: 9¢
Brazil-Mobile: 22¢

Brazil-Rio de Janeiro: 2¢

Brazil-Sao Paulo: 2¢

This means that calls to any landline in Rio or Sao Paulo are just 2¢ a minute; calls to landlines anywhere else in Brazil are 9¢ a minute; and calls to any mobile phone in Brazil are 22¢ a minute.

Rates can vary within a country based on what the local telephone service or mobile service provider charges PennyTalk Corporate to complete your call.

How often do PennyTalk Corporate calling rates change?

PennyTalk Corporate calling rates rarely change and, when they do, they are usually lowered. However, if our costs to complete calls to a specific destination increase, we may have to raise calling rates to that destination.

How do I create a PennyTalk Corporate Account?

How do I create a User Account?

If you are the Account Administrator, you can create a User Account by using the online Account Management Center.

  1. Log in to your Corporate Account with your Username and Password or your Account Number and PIN.
  2. Click the “Create User Accounts” button at the top of the page.
  3. Enter profile information (name, phone number and email address, for example) for the employee.
  4. Fund the User Account by moving funds from your Corporate Account balance.

The employee will receive an email containing a unique PennyTalk Corporate Account Number and PIN as well as instructions for using the service and for downloading PennyTalk Corporate Mobile smartphone apps.

How do I create a multiple User Accounts at once?

If you are the Account Administrator, you can create multiple User Accounts at once by using the online Account Management Center.

  1. Log in to your Corporate Account with your Username and Password or your Account Number and PIN.
  2. Click the “Create User Accounts” button at the top of the page, then click the "Bulk Upload" link.
  3. Follow the instructions on the "Create Accounts - Bulk Upload" page.
  4. Basically, you will download a blank spreadsheet (a Microsoft Excel file) into which you enter employee profile information for each of the User Accounts you wish to create and then upload that file to PennyTalk Corporate.

Each employee will receive an email containing a unique PennyTalk Corporate Account Number and PIN as well as instructions for using the service and for downloading PennyTalk Corporate Mobile smartphone apps.

How do I view all of my User Accounts at once?

To view a list of all User Accounts (which includes current account balance and other information), log in to the online Account Management Center. When you are on the home page, click on the View All button in the View User Accounts section.

How do I add funds to a PennyTalk Corporate Account?

How do I know how much is being spent or when funds need to be added?

Upon logging in to the online Account Management Center, the Account Administrator is shown the Corporate Account dashboard, which displays the current account balance, the available balance, the total amount of funds in User Accounts and the number of active User Accounts.

The Account Administrator can also see the balance, call history and billing history of each User Account.

If a User Account runs out of funds, what should the employee do?

Employees should contact the Account Administrator when funds need to be added to an account. Employees are not able to add funds on their own.

Employees who use the PennyTalk Corporate Mobile smartphone app can send a Request Funds email to the Account Administrator directly from the app.

Can I change the credit or debit card associated with the PennyTalk Corporate Account?

Yes. The Account Administer can change the billing and payment information for the Corporate Account at any time through the online Account Management Center.

Should I set up Auto Recharge for the Corporate or User Accounts?

It is recommended, but it is solely at your discretion. The Account Administrator can set up Auto Recharge at the Corporate Account level, the User Account level or both. With Auto Recharge enabled at the User and Corporate Account levels, your designated Users will always be able to make a call. Without Auto Recharge, an employee may run out of funds and not be able to place calls.

Please note that if a User Account has Auto Recharge enabled, but the Corporate Account has insufficient funds, the User Account will not be recharged. This is why we suggest always enabling Auto Recharge for the Corporate Account.

How do I change the PIN of a User Account?

To change a User Account PIN, follow these instructions:

  1. Log in with your Username and Password or your Account Number and PIN.
  2. Click the "Change PIN" link in the Manage User Accounts section on the left side of the page.
  3. Select a User Account, then enter and confirm the new PIN.

Why should I provide my employees’ email addresses on their accounts?

Employees will receive a PennyTalk Corporate welcome email containing their Account Number and PIN along with dialing instructions and links for dowloading the PennyTalk Corporate Mobile app.

How do I add funds to User Accounts when I am away from my computer?

PennyTalk Corporate offers an automated phone system which the Account Administrator can use to fund and maintain employee User Accounts.

Can I block calls to certain countries?

Yes. The Account Administer can block countries from any User Account. Once a country is blocked, the User Account cannot be used to call that country.

What is No-PIN Dialing and should it be enabled for User Accounts?

No-PIN Dialing allows employees to bypass entering their Account Number and PIN each time they make a call from a No-PIN Dialing registered phone. Up to 5 phone numbers can be registered for each User Account. Employees can add No-PIN Dialing numbers themselves through the online Account Management Center.

• If an employee will only be using the PennyTalk Corporate Mobile apps to make calls, it not necessary to register No-PIN Dialing phone numbers.

• If an employee will be calling from a landline or a regular mobile phone, it is recommended to register those phone numbers for No-PIN Dialing.

• If employees will be calling from an office PBX, No-PIN Dialing is not recommended, since calls may be associated with a single PBX extension and be charged to that User Account.

Can I designate other employees as Account Administrators? Will they be able to manage User Accounts?

Yes. The Account Administer can designate other employees as secondary Administrators at any time through online Account Management Center. Simply log in and click the "Manage Admin Accounts" link in the Manage Corporate Account section on the left side of the page. Secondary Administrators can add funds to User Accounts, change PINs and edit and create User Accounts.

Please note: Only the primary Account Administrator can add funds to the Corporate Account or make changes to the Corporate Account profile.

Will a User Account work from any phone?

Yes. You can use your PennyTalk Corporate User Account from anywhere in the U.S. and Canada at anytime. Make calls easily from any phone – home, mobile, office or hotel. PennyTalk Corporate calls are made using a national toll-free access number (877-736-6925) or directly from the PennyTalk Corporate Mobile smartphone app.

How do I make a call from my mobile phone or office phone with a User Account?

To make a call with PennyTalk Corporate from your company office phone, please follow these instructions:

  1. Dial 877-736-6925 (877-PENNY-25) from anywhere in the U.S or Canada and listen for the greeting.
  2. If you do not have No-PIN Dialing enabled, enter your PennyTalk Corporate Account Number and PIN when prompted.
  3. For calls to the U.S. and Canada, dial 1 + area code + the number you wish to call. For other calls to other countries, dial 011 + country code + city code + local number.

How do I use the PennyTalk Corporate Mobile smartphone app?

In order to use the PennyTalk Corporate Mobile app, your Account Administrator must create and fund your User Account. When your account has been created, you will receive an email containing your PennyTalk Corporate Account Number and PIN along with download links you can use to get PennyTalk Corporate Mobile.

Once you have downloaded and installed PennyTalk Corporate Mobile, simply launch the app, log in with your Account Number and PIN and start calling.

Can my account be used immediately?

Yes. Once a User Account is created and funded, it is active and can be used to make calls from any phone or with the PennyTalk Corporate Mobile app.

How do I know my account balance?

If you are calling from a landline or mobile phone (without using the PennyTalk Corporate Mobile app), you will hear your account balance before your call is connected. If you are using the PennyTalk Corporate Mobile app from your iPhone, BlackBerry or Android phone, you will see the account balance displayed on the app's keypad screen.

How do I add funds to my account?

You will need to contact your company's Account Administrator, who can add funds to your account. Your Account Administrator also has the ability to enable Auto Recharge on your account, which will ensure that you always have funds for making calls.

The PennyTalk Corporate Mobile app has a Request Funds feature that makes it easy for you to contact your Account Administrator when you need funds.

Can I use PennyTalk Corporate when I am outside of the U.S.?

Yes. In addition to making calls from the United States, you can use PennyTalk Corporate from Canada, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam at no additional charge. (Calls made from Canada are charged in U.S. dollars.)

My call will not connect. What should I do?

First, please verify the number you are calling and try again. If the number is correct, please avoid these common mistakes when dialing international numbers:

• Do not dial a zero between the country code and the city code.
• If you are using a mobile phone, do not press the Send, OK or Call button after dialing the phone number.
